Houghton’s roots lie in Western Australia’s Swan Valley, though it now sources grapes from all over WA’s wine regions. The winery became famous across Australia for its “White Burgundy” (today known as White Classic), which has been a staple for many households going back to 1936. It was also home to legendary winemaker Jack Mann who oversaw an incredible 51 vintages at Houghton.
Like many great old Aussie wineries, Houghton has been passed around from one corporate owner to another over the years.
